Activity Levels
One positive aspect of this difficult time is that I think as nation we have had a little bit more time to be active. I know that each member of the PE department have all taken up new sports during this time, as formal sport has been put on hold; Mrs Brown has even been out to buy a new pair of running shoes!
One thing we have all appreciated is how the daily exercise helps our mental well being and reduces our screen time. Sport England have been conducting research through out the lock down and have found that 40% of under 16's are not achieving their weekly activity levels.
The Sport England link below gives fantastic guidance and ideas on how to be safe whilst being active, every three weeks the PE department are also setting physical activity challenges for all students to complete.
