I am a parent governor who joined the governing body in 2022. I have been Chair of Governors since 2023. My background is in education, where I held a number of senior leader roles, including twelve years as a secondary head teacher.

I am the link governor for outcomes, leadership and management and governor development. I work with the headteacher and wider staff to support and challenge the school to provide the best possible learning opportunities for the students.  I also visit the school to see the curriculum and enrichment activities. In addition to my governor role, I am a magistrate in both the adult and family courts and also sit on an adoption panel.

Hello, my name is Sanya, one of the Co-Opted Governors. I am an NHS doctor specialising in Women’s Health and I moved to Nottingham for work. With their ethos of ‘Work Hard, Be Kind’, Nottingham Free School has been a fantastic place to help serve the local community.

As an Obstetrics and Gynaecology doctor, I am passionate about educating and empowering young people, particularly girls and young women, with the knowledge to make healthcare related decisions. That’s why I am pleased to be the link governor for Personal Development and Wellbeing, an area I feel NFS really value.
