Year 7
Intent
On completion of year 7, learners are able to read and listen to a range of short passages, identifying an extensive range of familiar vocabulary and cognates or near cognates with ease. They have a firm grounding of at least two tenses and can identify these with time frames. They can write and say extended sentences, agreeing adjectives and plurals correctly, as well as express a broad range of opinions with justification.

Intent
On completion of year 8, learners have a solid knowledge of some important themes in their ever-changing worlds; including diet, fashion, daily routines, technology, holidays and travel. They have an ever-expanding knowledge of creative vocabulary and have built on their year 7 grammatical schema, now able to recognise and understand 6 tenses, modal & reflexive verbs & superlatives. They have a deepening awareness of traditions, cultures & exploration of the Hispanic world.
