Year 8

Year 8 Curriculum

Year 8 is year two of a three year Key Stage 3 and follows the National Curriculum to ensure that all students experience a broad and balanced curriculum.

Please see each subject page for wider information about each area.

All year 8 students participate in two enrichment and two study sessions every week. Please click the following links to see further information on each:

Enrichment - this page outlines the aims of these sessions. Downloads are available to see the enrichment booklets from which year 8 students make their choices every term.

Study - all year 8 students use a knowledge organiser booklet which contains all of the key knowledge needed for each of their subjects every term. Learning this knowledge is the majority of their homework every week. More detailed information is found on the homework page which outlines how to use the knowledge organisers effectively and has links to downloads all booklets.

Study sessions are fully supervised and enable students to work independently on learning the knowledge in their booklets. Every half term, they will be taught a particular revision strategy to build up their repertoire. This enables them to use a variety of techniques to consolidate their understanding and remember the key information needed for all subjects.

For further details about each subject area please visit the subjects section.
