Weekly Parent BulletinWeek of 14 July (Week B)

~ 14th July 2025 ~

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to our Weekly Parent Bulletin. Please see below for our weekly update of all things NFS. You will find some lovely success stories and a few useful updates.

This week we had to wonderful events that highlighted all that is great about NFS.

Firstly, Monday afternoon and evening saw the annual NFS Art Exhibition. This event saw a stream of NFS families come and experience some truly stunning art by our students. A picture says a thousand words, as they say, so please enjoy the pictures below. Sincere thanks to Mrs Wilken and the Art department for coordinating this wonderful event.

Secondly, Tuesday was Sports Day. A huge thanks to Miss Singleton and the PE department for running what was, without a doubt, the best Sports Day in our school's history. Well done to Clough house for winning the cup. The whole school also did some fantastic dancing to the Macarena and Y.M.C.A. It was a true moment of unity in our special learning community.

Thanks as always for your continued support of our school and have a safe weekend in the scorching summer sun.

Yours faithfully,

Dr J Simpson

Year 7 carrying out a geographical enquiry into microclimates, to see where would be best on the school site for renewable energy. Groups collected weather data using anemometers to measure the wind speed (including some homemade ones!) and thermometers. They also carried out a questionnaire to gather opinions on renewable energy. They will compare their primary data to secondary data collected and write up their findings.

A massive thank you to all who attended our big NFS Art Exhibition! It was a big success with lots of parents, staff and students in attendance and even some past pupils came to see the work! The choir entertained us with some beautiful singing and some excellent solo performances as well as some fantastic dramatic performances from our drama students. It was such a successful evening-watch this space for the next one in 2026!

A massive thank you for all your donations on culture day, we raised an impressive £655.67! This will be split between our two chosen charities which were nominated by the students- Nottingham Hospitals Charity and Cancer Research.
