Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to our Half Term 5 Newsletter. Please see below for our weekly update of all things NFS. A few useful reminders and some lovely success stories.

We hope you enjoy a peaceful bank holiday weekend and your child(ren) have a well earned rest. For those students in Year 11 and 13 that are still preparing for their exams, we hope they strike a good balance between rest and revision.

A reminder that we have some revision sessions happening in school over the half term break:

Year 10 work experience:

Thank you to the year 10 parents for facilitating work experience this week.  We have had some wonderful reports of engagement and hope your young people have lots to tell you about their experiences.

Year 12 work experience:

A reminder that this will take place 14th - 18th July.  Please assist your young person in finding a meaningful placement.  We will continue to support also in school.

Ethos of Excellence

  • Well done to year 9 who achieved the most positive points this half term with an amazing 4054 points. Another well done to year 8 who achieved the least amount of negatives for this half term.  The focus for next half term is for students to achieve their REACH badges so that they can be worn with pride.

Attendance

As we move in to the final half term of this academic year, we are preparing all students to transition to their new year group.  Attending every day in the final half term means:

  1. Year 10 can prepare for their mock exams which start on Monday 23rd June.  Missed days means they are missing out on vital learning and preparation for the exams.
  2. Transition Ambassadors can support the new year 6 students attending transition workshops
  3. Students can celebrate the many different cultures on Culture day on Friday 4th July
  4. Students will take part in the sports day activities on Tuesday 8th July
  5. Year 10 geography students to start their fieldwork on the 17th July.

How students finish the year can set a strong foundation for the next one.
