NFS Netball BEGINS!
New teacher, new dresses...NEW NETBALL TEAM!
After only a short time of practising together, the Year 9s started their Central Venue campaign against the home school, Emmanuel. The teams were very evenly matched and the sense of occasion caused an uncertain NFS team to score, but not win. If we had met this team later in the tournament, I feel sure that the result could have been very different. Arrangements have been made to play some friendlies against Emmanuel once the Central Venue Tournament is over! This will be great practise for the team.
We then met Mrs Singleton-Jones' former school for an early grudge match against West Bridgford. Their links with Cliftonettes and County/Regional development squads unfortunately meant that our inexperienced team couldn't manage a victory, but we did keep their win to the lowest goals scored for West Bridgford yet - a real victory for our defense.
The NFS team are so keen to improve and as such we are now practising on a Friday (!) after school in an endeavour to keep progressing. This commitment to training will soon result in more goals, more confidence and more victories for our team.....to be continued!
